Lose weight by changing what you say

This is still a series on weight loss and how to achieve this so that it lasts.

It may not seem like a big deal but the words we speak can affect our mindset and our intentions with weight loss and other health changes that we attempt to make permanent.

The words can mean the difference between being successful or if we decide to give up after trying to lose weight.

The words we choose...

  • some are very similar to other words

  • often the words are used interchangeably

But...

  • the impact and effect the words have on actions and thought process make them very different from each other

  • the words provide different messages to our brains about our intentions

  • the difference between in the words can provide different actions and outcomes

Not just words...

  • they are affirmations of what you believe to be true

  • they provide reasons for what you doing

  • they provide very strong reminders of what you what your outcomes of your behaviors to be

  • they can be a positive and strong path to our outcomes

  • Or the words can derail us and how we stick with a change we have chosen

When we say no to something, there is a difference between "I don't ...." and "I can't ....."

  • Saying "I don't eat ....." provides an affirmation of your willpower and your control in your pursuit of a goal

  • This is an empowering way to no to something

  • Saying "I can't eat ...." is a reminder of limitations

  • Is a reminder that you are forcing yourself to do something you don't want to do

  • The "I can't" is a draining way to say no

Saying "I don't ...."

  • will make it easier to say no

  • help you resist temptations

  • lead to improvements in health

Just say "I don't ...."
